- You are between 20 and 65 years old.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 27 or higher, or 24 or higher with a large waist (90 cm for men, 80 cm for women).
- You have not used weight-loss medication or other weight-loss treatments in the past 3 months.
- You are willing to follow dietary and exercise advice during the study.
- You do not have certain medical conditions (like severe heart, liver, or kidney disease, or poorly controlled diabetes).
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy within 6 months.
