Who can take part
- You are male and between 18 and 75 years old.
- Your type 2 diabetes was diagnosed within the last 2 years.
- You have a body mass index (BMI) between 25 and 35.
- You have never taken diabetes medication except for sulfonylureas (a type of pill).
- You do not have conditions like spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, or joint immobility that affect muscle function.
- You do not have heart failure (NYHA class II or higher) or chronic kidney disease (stage 3 or higher).
