This study aims to learn more about premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), a condition that causes severe mood and physical symptoms before periods. If you experience these symptoms or you do not, you may be able to help by taking part.

Who can take part

  • You were assigned female at birth and still have your ovaries.
  • You are between 18 and 42 years old.
  • You have not reached menopause and have regular menstrual cycles (every 24-35 days).
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 30.
  • You have access to a computer, tablet or smartphone, and are registered with a UK general practitioner (GP).
  • If you have PMDD symptoms, you must meet criteria for PMDD (a doctor must confirm).
  • If you are a healthy control, you must have no history of PMDD or other psychiatric illness.
