This study tests a new bone graft material called ProteiOS during lumbar spine fusion surgery to help bones heal together and reduce pain. It may help people with degenerative spine disease who have not improved with other treatments.

Who can take part
- Age 18 to 75 years.
- Have degenerative disease in the lower spine (L2 to S1) and need a 1- or 2-level TLIF or ALIF surgery.
- Have imaging (CT, MRI, or X-ray) showing spine degeneration like disc height loss, bone spurs, or spinal narrowing.
- Have low back pain (at least 4 on a 0-10 scale) and leg pain (at least 3 on a 0-10 scale) or other related symptoms.
- Have tried non-surgical treatment for at least 6 months without enough relief (or have severe nerve problems).
- Do not have severe osteoporosis, active infection, cancer (within last 5 years), or use certain bone graft products.
