Who can take part

  • Age 18 to 75 years.
  • Have degenerative disease in the lower spine (L2 to S1) and need a 1- or 2-level TLIF or ALIF surgery.
  • Have imaging (CT, MRI, or X-ray) showing spine degeneration like disc height loss, bone spurs, or spinal narrowing.
  • Have low back pain (at least 4 on a 0-10 scale) and leg pain (at least 3 on a 0-10 scale) or other related symptoms.
  • Have tried non-surgical treatment for at least 6 months without enough relief (or have severe nerve problems).
  • Do not have severe osteoporosis, active infection, cancer (within last 5 years), or use certain bone graft products.
