Who can take part

  • You need planned surgery for one spinal level: ALIF at L5/S1 or XLIF at L4/5 (with or without extra screw support).
  • Your age must be 18 to 70 years.
  • You must speak enough German to complete study questionnaires and understand the study.
  • You must be able and willing to attend follow-up visits and answer questionnaires at set times.
  • You should not currently smoke (and you must be willing not to smoke).
