Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • Your stroke started within the last 24 hours.
  • Imaging shows a blockage in a major brain artery that can be treated with a catheter.
  • Imaging also shows that a large part of the brain is already damaged, but you were able to live independently before the stroke.
  • Your blood pressure can be controlled with medication.
  • You do not have bleeding in the brain, severe organ failure, or a condition that limits life to less than 6 months.
