Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You had a stroke with symptoms starting within the last 24 hours.
- A brain scan shows a blockage in a main artery (carotid or middle cerebral) and a very large area of brain damage.
- You do not have bleeding in the brain, brain swelling, or a shift of brain structures.
- You are not pregnant, and do not have a serious bleeding disorder, severe organ disease, or a terminal illness.
