Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have been diagnosed with intermediate-stage liver cancer (stage IIIa) that can potentially be removed with surgery.
- You have not received any prior cancer treatment.
- You are in relatively good health (able to care for yourself and up and about).
- Your liver function is adequate, as measured by a Child-Pugh score less than 7.
- You have at least one measurable tumor on imaging.
- If you have hepatitis B or C, you are receiving regular treatment for it.
- You agree to use reliable birth control during the trial and for at least 6 months after the last dose of study drugs.
- You do not have cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (extrahepatic metastasis).
- You have not had bleeding from enlarged veins in your esophagus or stomach in the past 6 months.
- You do not have uncontrolled fluid buildup in your abdomen (ascites) or other serious medical conditions.
