AI-guided imaging for complex coronary stenting
Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.
This study uses an AI system that combines different heart imaging tests to help doctors plan stenting for complex narrowed arteries. It aims to improve how well the stent is placed and to make the procedure safer and more effective.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You are scheduled for a stent procedure (PCI) for a complex narrowing in one of your heart arteries (not the left main artery).
- The narrowing causes symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath, or tests show significant blockage.
- The narrowed area is long (over 20 mm) or there are two narrow spots with a healthy section in between.
- You are willing to follow study rules and use contraception during the trial if needed.

This study uses advanced CT scans and a special camera (OCT) to look at borderline blockages in heart arteries more closely. It aims to see if artificial intelligence can help decide which blockages need a stent and which can be treated with medicine alone.
This trial tests an artificial-intelligence tool that uses a heart ultrasound to help guide stent treatment. It may help doctors choose the best way to treat blockages and improve stent results for people with symptoms from reduced blood flow to the heart.
This study tests whether using a tiny pressure sensor in heart arteries during a procedure can better guide where to place a stent. It may help doctors choose the safest and most effective stent plan by more accurately measuring artery narrowing.
This Phase 4 study tests a way to measure blood flow in heart arteries to help doctors choose the best stent plan. It may help improve safety and effectiveness for people having elective heart stent procedures for stable angina or certain heart attacks.
This study looks at whether using advanced imaging inside the heart arteries during complex procedures leads to better outcomes compared to current standard practice. If you have had a complex angioplasty (PCI) and your data is in a national heart registry, you may be included.
This study tests a new imaging technique to help doctors see inside your heart arteries during a stent procedure. It may help guide treatment and improve outcomes for people with heart disease.
