Who can take part
- You have newly diagnosed ALL of the B-cell type (pre-B), and it is Philadelphia-chromosome negative or positive.
- You may qualify if you are 60 or older and had little to no prior treatment (very limited steroid and/or certain chemo).
- If you are under 60, you must be considered not fit for intensive chemotherapy due to specific health problems like weak heart, lung limits, kidney limits, or liver bilirubin being high.
- Your overall day-to-day functioning must be mild to moderate (performance status 0–3).
- Heart and liver/kidney function must be adequate, and you must not have active hepatitis or be pregnant/breast-feeding.
