Who can take part
- You had one or both upper limbs removed below the shoulder (amputation) for at least 6 months, or for many years
- Your hand is not working well (functionless or minimally functional) and you want it removed and replaced
- You’re 18–69 years old and can understand and sign the consent forms
- You must be willing to receive a bone marrow infusion as part of the treatment
- You must test negative for HIV and have no past cancer in the last 5 years
- There must be a negative “crossmatch” test between you and the donor (no harmful immune reaction)
