Who can take part

  • You are 21 to 80 years old
  • You have clinically diagnosed focal dystonia (or you are a close unaffected relative / a healthy volunteer)
  • You are a native English speaker and right-handed
  • You can give informed consent and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You do not have major past or current brain/mental health/larynx problems listed in the study
  • You can have MRI safely (no non-removable metal/ferromagnetic implants, and you can’t have certain tattoo/metal risks)
