Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 80 years old
  • The cardiac arrest is believed to be from a heart-related cause, not an injury
  • The person had a sustained return of circulation when arriving at the emergency department
  • They are not responding to verbal commands (Glasgow Coma Scale score under 8)
  • Doctors decide they are eligible for targeted temperature management (TTM)
  • The trial treatment can start within 4 hours after arriving at the emergency department
