Radiation for prostate cancer using smaller, targeted doses

To Evaluate the Rate of Digestive and Urinary Toxicity

Who can take part

  • You have prostate adenocarcinoma (the most common type of prostate cancer).
  • Your cancer is considered adverse intermediate risk or high localized risk based on scans, PSA, and biopsy results.
  • Your estimated chance of lymph node involvement is above 15%, but you have no proven spread to lymph nodes in the pelvis (N0 or not assessable).
  • Your prostate is smaller than 60 cubic centimeters on MRI/ultrasound, and there is no pelvic lymph node swelling (≥15 mm) on CT/MRI.
  • You have no bone or organ metastases on CT and bone scan, and you started hormone therapy within the last 90 days (or you will start it right before radiation).
  • Your urinary symptoms are mild (IPSS under 12) and you are not taking an alpha-blocker; you also have no prior pelvic radiation and can attend follow-up visits.
