Who can take part
- Aged 25 to 55
- Have a current major depressive episode confirmed by a structured clinical interview
- Depression severity on a standard 17-question depression scale must be above 14
- Be off psychiatric medicines for long enough before the PET scan (at least 5 “half-lives”)
- Be able to safely get an MRI scan (no metal/pacemaker and similar safety concerns)
