Who can take part

  • You had a heart attack 2 to 40 days ago
  • Your heart pumping function is reduced (left ventricle ejection fraction is 40% or less, or “moderately impaired”)
  • You are between 18 and 85 years old
  • You are not pregnant and can attend regular follow-up visits
  • You do not already have an implanted defibrillator (ICD)
  • You do not have certain serious health problems that make it likely you won’t live more than 1 year
