Who can take part

  • Your heart pumping strength (ejection fraction) must be at least 50% on an echocardiogram or MUGA scan
  • You must not be pregnant, and you must use reliable birth control during the study (and avoid breastfeeding)
  • You must have one of these blood cancers or related subtypes, such as AML or high-risk MDS, or certain advanced/“blast phase” forms of other blood cancers
  • Your liver and kidney blood tests must meet limits (and bilirubin only allowed in some cases like Gilbert’s syndrome)
  • You must not have major/unstable heart problems, such as recent heart attack, unstable chest pain, severe rhythm problems, or severe valve disease
