Registry study for recent stroke/TIA with heart artery disease

Coexistence of Cerebral and Coronary AtherosclerosisAcute Ischemic Cerebrovascular Disease

This study enrolls people who recently had an ischemic stroke or a TIA (a “mini-stroke”) and also have evidence of narrowed heart arteries. It collects information to better understand how brain and heart artery disease occur together and may guide future care.

Who can take part

  • You had an ischemic stroke or a TIA (mini-stroke).
  • Your symptoms started less than 30 days ago.
  • Imaging (ultrasound, CT, or MRI) shows atherosclerosis (narrowing) in brain arteries.
  • You also have evidence of coronary (heart) artery disease from imaging or heart testing, or prior heart stent/bypass.
  • You have no cancer with a life expectancy under 5 years, and your major organs/blood system are not too impaired; you’re willing to join the study.
