It may help shrink or control the leukemia and improve blood counts in patients who cannot or do not want a stem cell transplant.

Who can take part

  • You have MDS or CMML confirmed by accepted diagnostic criteria
  • You cannot or choose not to get a stem cell transplant right now
  • Your disease is high risk (intermediate-2/high risk) with higher-than-normal blast cells in the marrow
  • Your disease did not respond after at least 4 treatment cycles, or it returned or worsened after prior medicines like azacitidine, decitabine, guadecitabine, or oral decitabine (ASTX727)
  • Your liver and kidney tests are within limits (bilirubin under 3 mg/dL, AST/ALT no more than 3x normal, kidney filtration above 30)
  • You agree to the study by signing informed consent
