Who can take part

  • You must be age 18 or older.
  • Your brain scan (CT or MRI) must show a primary brain bleed (often from high blood pressure or blood thinners) in the frontal lobe, thalamus, or striatocapsular area.
  • You were not responding to commands within 48 hours after the bleeding started.
  • You speak English, Spanish, or French as your main language.
  • Your bleed must not be mainly from major bleeding in other key areas like the cortex outside the frontal lobe, the cerebellum, or the brainstem.
