Nerve stimulation to calm inflammation in sepsis

Who can take part

  • You have septic shock, with a systolic blood pressure under 90 even after fluids
  • You have not had a vagus nerve surgery called vagotomy
  • You have not had a heart attack or stroke in the past year
  • You do not have certain serious heart rhythm or wiring problems (or no pacemaker for the specified condition)
  • You do not have recurrent fainting due to vasovagal episodes
  • You are not pregnant
