  • You are over 18 years old
  • You have cirrhosis (scarred liver) based on prior medical testing
  • You were hospitalized for hepatic encephalopathy at least once in the last 12 months
  • You had an abdominal CT scan at any time in the past
  • Your illness is not too severe (MELD score 35 or lower)
