Who can take part

  • Be age 18 or older, and have MDS or chronic myelomonocytic leukemia, or CCUS as defined by the study
  • For MDS groups: your disease must be “low” or “intermediate-1” risk based on study scoring (IPSS or IPSS-R)
  • Have blood count problems (for at least 30 days), such as low hemoglobin or low platelets, per the study’s cutoffs
  • If you are in the treatment-history group: your prior ESA or “hypomethylating” treatment must not have worked (or you must have relapsed after it) and you must have had enough treatment cycles; if you have del(5q), you must also have had lenalidomide
  • You must be healthy enough for treatment: no serious uncontrolled infection, low enough liver and kidney lab levels, and you can do daily activities at a limited level (ECOG under 2)
