Sulodexide to prevent blood clots from coming back

Who can take part

  • You are 75 years or older at enrollment
  • You had your first deep leg clot (DVT) and/or lung clot (PE) in the past, with weak or removed triggers
  • Your clot was not caused by major recent surgery, major trauma, long bed rest, or a recent cast/immobility
  • You have at least one bleeding risk factor, like kidney problems, anemia, diabetes, falls, or prior stroke
  • You completed at least 3 months of blood-thinner (anticoagulant) treatment, and you’ve not been off it for more than 30 days
