Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and can give consent (or have a legally authorized representative help).
  • You have diarrhea and are being treated for a C. difficile infection.
  • You started standard C. difficile treatment within the last 120 hours (oral vancomycin or fidaxomicin).
  • You can take the study medicine by mouth or through a feeding tube.
  • You can join the study at one of the participating hospitals/clinics and follow the study schedule.
  • You do not have any major “not eligible” emergencies or complications listed by the study (like shock/ICU-level illness).
