Who can take part

  • You must have NMDA receptor encephalitis confirmed by a specific antibody test in spinal fluid (CSF).
  • You must be at least 12 years old (and if under 18, weigh at least 40 kg).
  • You must have had recent treatment: high-dose IV steroids for at least 3 days within the last 90 days, plus either IVIG or plasma exchange in the prior 90 days.
  • You should have moderate disability from the illness (Modified Rankin Score 3 or higher).
  • You must be willing to come to study visits and follow study procedures through the end of the study.
  • If you could become pregnant or have a partner who could, you must follow strict birth control rules during the study and for months after the last dose.
