Who can take part

  • Your child is 3 to under 13 years old
  • Your child has “lazy eye” caused by a difference in eye focusing and/or eye turning (strabismus)
  • They have not had any amblyopia treatment before (no patching or similar treatments; at most 24 hours of glasses wear)
  • A recent eye exam shows they qualify for glasses and their vision matches study ranges (one eye is weaker, the other is near normal for their age)
  • A parent or caregiver can understand the study and agree to randomization (not choosing the exact treatment group)
  • You can use a phone for study calls, and you don’t expect to move away from the study area within about a year
