Who can take part
- Be age 50 or older
- Have had a new ischemic stroke confirmed by MRI, with the scan done within 72 hours of symptom onset
- The MRI should show an injury in the brain cortex or a certain type of deep brain area (not brainstem/cerebellum)
- Be able and willing to sign written consent and join follow-up visits/assessments
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
