- You had a recent acute ischemic stroke (blood clot) in a specific brain artery (MCA territory)
- You received emergency treatment to remove the clot, either through a catheter procedure or IV medication
- You have some arm, leg, or facial weakness from the stroke
- You can safely have multiple MRI scans at Lenox Hill Hospital (no pacemaker, metal implants, or severe claustrophobia)
- You are at least 18 years old
- You or a healthcare representative can provide informed consent
