Who can take part
- You can give informed consent and follow study visits and procedures for the full study period
- You’re between 18 and 90 years old and have major depressive disorder diagnosed by DSM-5
- Your depression is mainly from a major depressive episode (not another more likely brain/mental condition)
- You’ve tried at least two different antidepressant treatments and either they failed or you couldn’t tolerate them
- Your depression severity is high enough (MADRS item 10 score of at least 2) and you can sit/lie for the stimulation schedule
- You may need to meet clinical criteria for ECT (electroconvulsive therapy), including medical clearance if required
