This trial tests whether olaparib (a cancer medicine) can help control malignant mesothelioma that has specific DNA changes. You must have already had platinum chemotherapy and your cancer must be “platinum-sensitive,” plus your tumor (or family/genetic cells) must show certain gene problems.

Who can take part

  • You have confirmed malignant mesothelioma diagnosed by a physician and you’re 18 or older
  • You must be willing to sign consent before any study tests and agree to genetic testing of both tumor and normal cells
  • Your mesothelioma must have specific DNA findings, such as BAP1 loss or a gene change that disrupts protein function
  • You must have had cisplatin or carboplatin before, and your cancer must not have grown during treatment or for at least 3 months after
  • Your blood counts and organ function must be adequate on recent lab tests, and you must be well enough for daily activities (ECOG 0–1)
  • Your tumor must be measurable on CT scans and have at least one untargeted lesion that meets size limits; you must not have certain serious health exclusions
