Who can take part

  • You must be an adult age 18 to 80 with a consciousness problem (not fully awake for a period of time)
  • Your brain injury must be visible on CT or MRI, such as after trauma, lack of oxygen (anoxia), or stroke
  • You should not currently be deeply sedated (for example, not in a medically induced deep-sleep state)
  • You should not have a severe known brain-wasting disease, like Alzheimer’s
  • You must not be pregnant
