Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Have a recent acute brain injury, such as stroke, brain bleeding, lack of oxygen, head injury, or brain infection.
  • Since the injury, you have trouble following commands, speaking clearly, or communicating (for example, coma or minimally conscious state minus).
  • The condition must be within 28 days of the brain injury.
  • You must be able to participate in study procedures that rely on English (you or your caregiver can answer English questionnaires).
