Who can take part
- Be age 21 or younger when you enroll
- Have severe aplastic anemia or a single blood cell type that’s very low, based on blood tests and bone marrow findings
- No well-matched sibling or fully matched unrelated donor available in time
- Have either failed immune-suppressing treatment or your disease returned after stopping it (unless your case is extremely unlikely to respond)
- Have a family donor who is half-matched (at least 3 of 6 genetic matches)
- Meet heart, kidney, lung, liver health, and general activity strength requirements
