Who can take part

  • You are between 40 and 75 years old when you join
  • You have severe aplastic anemia that did not improve (or came back) after at least one immune-suppressing treatment
  • You do not have a fully matched sibling donor, but you do have a related half-match donor who can donate bone marrow
  • You are well enough for transplant, with heart, lung, kidney, and liver tests within required limits
  • You and (if applicable) your donor can sign consent, and you must be able to follow the study plan
  • You test negative for certain infections like HIV and active hepatitis, and you must not have had a prior stem cell transplant
