Who can take part

  • You’re 18 or older and can understand the study and sign consent
  • Your back condition needs a fusion to make unstable spine joints stable (posterolateral lumbar or thoraco-lumbar, up to two levels)
  • Your spine instability is confirmed by certain test findings (like x-ray instability, disc height loss, vertebra slipping, or other listed signs)
  • If you’re having elective surgery, you tried non-surgical treatments for at least 3 months first (unless your instability is from urgent trauma)
  • You can’t need more than a two-level fusion or likely need another procedure within 1 year
