Who can take part

  • You’re between 18 and 80 years old and have a doctor diagnosis of asthma.
  • Your asthma history includes documented breathing tests showing reversible airflow blockage or an airway test showing over‑reactivity.
  • You do not have other lung diseases such as COPD, bronchiectasis, lung TB damage, past lung surgery, or lung cancer.
  • If you’re over 40, you have not had a smoking history over 10 pack-years and you don’t have heavy exposure to burning biomass (like wood/coal smoke).
  • You are not currently in another clinical study, and you are not pregnant (if able to become pregnant).
  • You have not smoked in the last year, and you have not taken antibiotics (including nasal antibiotics) in the past 4 weeks.
  • You have had no signs or symptoms of a lung or upper respiratory infection in the past 4 weeks (like a cold, cough with infection, or fever).
