Who can take part

  • You must be an adult (18 or older).
  • If you are in the intensive care unit for a brain injury, you may need to be unconscious and score under 8 on the Glasgow Coma Scale.
  • If you are a brain-injury participant, you must be unable to follow bedside commands when you arrive.
  • You must have a negative COVID-19 test on arrival (for the brain-injury participant group).
  • You cannot join if you are pregnant, or if you had cardiac arrest when you arrived.
