Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with essential tremor by a movement-disorders neurologist, not caused by another illness or injury.
- Your tremor is mainly in your hands/arms (distal), with little tremor closer to the body (proximal).
- Medication didn’t work well enough and/or side effects were too hard to tolerate.
- Your tremor greatly affects your daily life or quality of life.
- You must have no major safety blockers for deep brain stimulation surgery.
- You should not be pregnant, and you should not have had metal objects in your body that “float” (like certain metal fragments).
