Who can take part

  • Be over 20 years old when you are screened
  • Have CKD with stable kidney function (eGFR between 15 and 60) for at least about a month
  • Have symptoms of blocked leg arteries with moderate/severe staging (Rutherford stage 2 or higher) and an ankle test showing poor blood flow (ABI < 0.9)
  • Be able to follow eating and stomach requirements (no active serious bleeding, and not in fasting/unable-to-eat situations)
  • Not have had antibiotics or probiotics in the last 2 weeks, and be able to avoid them during the study
  • Have acceptable blood and nutrition levels (albumin not too low, hemoglobin not too low, and no severe malnutrition or recent major bleeding)
