Who can take part

  • You are an adult age 18–65.
  • You have sepsis, defined by a screening score (qSOFA) of 2 or higher, and you need ICU admission.
  • You do not have long-term kidney failure.
  • You do not have liver cirrhosis.
  • You cannot have bleeding risk issues, blood-thinning (anticoagulant) medicines, or a history of serious blood clots (like deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you do not have an allergy to tranexamic acid.
