Who can take part

  • You are either a hospitalized stroke participant (stroke within 6 months) or a healthy participant without stroke
  • If you had a stroke: you must have a balance pushing problem called lateropulsion, worse than a set score (SCP > 0.5)
  • You must be able to understand and follow simple instructions and complete the balance tests
  • You should not have certain dizziness/inner-ear problems or a history of vestibular disorders
  • You should not have major psychiatric issues, severe untreated depression, or fear of being in dark spaces (nyctophobia)
  • You should not have serious heart failure or large spine/trunk deformity that would affect posture measurements
