This Phase 1/2 study tests the medicine abemaciclib to shrink Kaposi sarcoma (KS) lesions and control the disease. It includes both people with HIV and people without HIV, and may help when KS has not responded well to prior treatment or when certain KS stages are present.

Who can take part
- You have KS confirmed by pathology tests from the study center (not just suspected).
- Your KS must be measurable—typically at least five visible skin (cutaneous) lesions, with rules about not having certain local treatments that would hide whether lesions respond.
- You must be able to swallow pills by mouth.
- Your blood counts and organ tests must be strong enough (for example: neutrophils > 1,000; platelets > 75,000; hemoglobin at least 8).
- If you have HIV, you must be on anti-HIV treatment (ART), take it consistently, and not show KS improvement over the last 4 weeks.
- You must be at least 18 years old and well enough to do daily activities (ECOG/functional status not worse than 2).
