Stopping versus continuing blood thinner during heart catheter procedures

Who can take part

  • You’re over 18 and currently taking a DOAC blood thinner
  • You have a planned (elective) heart catheter procedure: coronary angiography or PCI
  • You can sign an informed consent form
  • You do not have an active heart emergency right now (STEMI, NSTEMI, or unstable angina)
  • Your kidneys are working well enough (creatinine clearance 30 mL/min or higher)
  • You are not in another clinical trial and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding
