Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old and had isolated CABG for coronary artery disease
  • You developed atrial fibrillation after surgery that lasts over 60 minutes or comes back within 7 days
  • You have no past history of atrial fibrillation (permanent, persistent, or occasional)
  • You do not already have a reason to take long-term blood thinners
  • You cannot be scheduled to take two anti-platelet medicines after surgery (DAPT)
  • You can safely take an approved blood thinner and are able to consent and follow the study plan
