Who can take part
- Be an adult (over 18) with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma and be well enough to do most daily activities (ECOG 0–2).
- Start treatment within about 4 weeks of any emergency-only meds for symptoms (like high calcium, kidney problems, or pain). Small amounts of steroid (dexamethasone), bortezomib, and/or cyclophosphamide may be allowed if used briefly.
- Have measurable myeloma in the blood or urine (such as a high abnormal protein level).
- Have good enough organ health (liver tests, bilirubin, and kidney function) and be expected to live at least 12 months.
- Be able to follow pregnancy/contraception rules during treatment and after bortezomib, and agree to Revlimid REMS safety monitoring.
