Autologous mitochondrial transplant after acute stroke complications

  • You have an acute stroke-type blockage where a clot-busting procedure called thrombectomy is an option
  • You also have acute brain blood-vessel spasm after an aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage where angioplasty is planned
  • There is enough time to explain the study and get consent from you or your legal decision-maker
  • You are able to have a brain MRI scan
  • You do not have a known mitochondrial disease
  • You are stable enough for the usual endovascular procedures to be safely completed
