  • You’re being admitted to a participating hospital, or scheduled to be admitted there
  • You need a breathing tube placed (tracheal intubation) in the study hospital
  • You have a life-threatening condition where intubation is needed for breathing/circulation or brain/neurologic problems
  • You are planned to get sedation for the intubation (with or without muscle-relaxing medicine)
  • You are age 18 or older
