Morning vs bedtime blood pressure medicine dosing study
Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.
This trial tests whether taking your blood pressure medicine in the morning or at bedtime controls blood pressure better over a full day and night. It may help certain people find a dosing time that improves nighttime blood pressure.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You are 18–70 years old and have high blood pressure that has not been treated, or you stopped BP meds for at least 2 weeks
- Your blood pressure readings during screening are around: top number 140–159, and bottom number under 100
- Your 24-hour blood pressure check shows higher nighttime pressure (nighttime top number averages at least 120)
- Your sleep breathing and sleep symptoms suggest you don’t have untreated sleep apnea or other issues that strongly affect nighttime blood pressure
- You must be able to complete the 24-hour blood pressure monitor correctly and attend visits; you’ll sign consent
