Indeterminate Bethesda III Thyroid Nodules

This trial studies radiofrequency ablation, a procedure that shrinks a thyroid nodule, for thyroid nodules that are unclear on biopsy but have a reassuring “molecular” test. If you have a Bethesda III nodule that tests benign on specific genetic tests, you may be a good candidate to see if this approach helps safely.

Who can take part

  • You have an indeterminate thyroid nodule called “Bethesda III”
  • Your nodule has been tested with Afirma GSC or ThyroSeq v3
  • The molecular test result for your nodule must be “benign”
  • You do not have a heart rhythm problem (cardiac arrhythmia)
  • You are not pregnant (or will not be during the study)
